Network Simulator in Education (1)

Simulator is good to be used in:
a) computer–based training,
b) virtual laboratories.
c) Problem based learning

Simulators can be effectively used as teaching aids by enhancing the quality of learning by students if these simulator tools have good quality and easy to use.

Simulators plus visualization will add more impact to the learning curve.
Visualisation can be in term of:

a) process visualization
b) model animation
c) result visualization

The visualization should reflect how a certain simulated systems work.

Educational advantages are gained due to
a) experiments in virtual networking laboratory, rather than on the actual wide-area network,
b) visualization of the protocol behavior under different conditions,
c) adjusting protocol configuration (configurable options), timers, functions.
